Details

EA Pip Scalper is a fully automated multi-asset/timeframe expert advisor based on proprietary indicators and strategies combined with strict conservative money management.

EA Pip Scalper implements proprietary trading algorithms ported from proven overtime HFT bots and optimized to trade EUR/USD, USD/JPY, and GBP/USD, but it is also not limited to those assets. It provides a wide range of input parameters allowing unlimited customization options and adaptations to different assets and markets.

Inputs User Guide

License Key

  • TM_LicenseKey - valid license key is required in order to attach the expert advisor to a chart. Customers are provided with license keys on purchase. License keys are visible on the Downloads & Licenses section inside the Customer Area and are validated on attaching the expert advisor to a chart. Every license key can be used with up to 5 broker accounts at the same time. It is possible to deactivate broker accounts from the license key if needed. The license key is not required for the Strategy Tester mode.

Money Management

  • MM_RiskPercentage - percentage amount from the account available balance to risk with each trade that the expert advisor will open. Note that there are complex risk management algorithms that will cut the loss earlier most of the time. The recommended value is 1%. Do not enter values above 5% unless you are using a professional account with higher leverage.

Signal Generators

This section represents a set of inputs for the internal proprietary indicators. Those indicators are further used by each trading strategy to generate open and close signals. Indicators parameters are as follows (with default values and recommended optimization settings):

  • Sig0_Period (Def: H1) - the main timeframe that all indicators will use. Independent by the timeframe of the chart.
  • Sig0_Offset (Def: -5; Opt: -5/1/5) - an offset parameter that controls the minimum trade duration time. Trade minimum duration time is internally calculated for each trade. By adjusting the offset you can force the trades to stay open for longer periods of time.

Internal indicator Sig1 parameters:

  • Sig1_SP_Offset (Def: -1; Opt: -5/1/5) - offset of internal default value for calculating short period trend;
  • Sig1_LP_Offset (Def: 1; Opt: -5/1/5) - offset of internal default value for calculating long period trend;
  • Sig1_PP_Offset (Def: 6; Opt: -10/1/10) - offset of internal default value for calculating trend prediction.

Internal indicator Sig2 parameters:

  • Sig2_SP_Offset (Def: -1; Opt: -5/1/5) - offset of internal default value for calculating short period trend;
  • Sig2_LP_Offset (Def: 0; Opt: -5/1/5) - offset of internal default value for calculating long period trend.

Internal indicator Sig3 parameters:

  • Sig3_S_Offset (Def: 0.00; Opt: -0.01/0.005/0.01) - offset of internal default value for detecting trend reversals;
  • Sig3_M_Offset (Def: 0.00; Opt: -0.10/0.050/0.10) - offset of internal default value for detecting trend reversals;

Internal indicator Sig4 parameters:

  • Sig4_P_Offset (Def: -6; Opt: -10/1/10) - offset of internal default value for a period in bars to evaluate volume-weighted price action;
  • Sig4_S_Offset (Def: 3; Opt: -5.0/0.5/5.0) - offset of internal default value for calculating market extreme conditions.

Internal indicator Sig5 parameters:

  • Sig5_P_Offset (Def: 0; Opt: -5/1/5) - offset of internal default value for a period in bars to calculate market trend;
  • Sig5_D_Offset (Def: 0; Opt: -1.0/0.5/3.0) - offset of internal default value for calculating trend deviations.

OPEN Strategy Parameters

EA Pip Scalper currently has 6 trading strategies groups with 2 independent signal generators per strategy group. This equals to 12 different trading strategies based on the internal signal generators. Each strategy group has similar parameters. However, each strategy group provides different open signals. Strategy #1A and #1B provide the most conservative and strong signals. Strategy #2A and #2B provide a little bit more aggressive signals and also signals that #1A and #1B may have missed due to marked noise. Strategy #3A and #3B are the most aggressive strategies and provide early open signals.

Below are detailed descriptions of strategy parameters that are identical for each strategy group (with default values and recommended optimization settings):

  • Strat*_Sig1 (Def: true;  Opt: false/true) - Enable/disable postion opening based on triggers by the internal indicator Sig1;
  • Strat*_Sig2 (Def: false; Opt: false/true) - Enable/disable postion opening based on triggers by the internal indicator Sig2;
  • Strat*_PS_Prc (Def: 100; Opt: -) - position sizing, percentage from the MM_RiskPercentage. This parameter allows traders to define different position sizing per strategy group. It is useful when Hedging is enabled or when traders want to reduce risk with more aggressive strategy groups. Recommended values are 100% without Hedging and 50% when Hedging is enabled and/or strategy groups #3A/#3B;
  • Strat*_TP_Pips (Def: 100; Opt: 50/10/150) - target take profit in pips;
  • Strat*_SL_MinPips (Def: 20; Opt: 10/10/50) - minimum stop loss in pips. Stop loss is automatically determined by the internal indicators and algorithms, though you can define a minimum stop loss value that will override the algorithm based one if the latter is lower. It is recommended to always have a minimum defined;
  • Strat*_SL_MaxPips (Def: 50; Opt: 50/10/100) - maximum stop loss in pips. Stop loss is automatically determined by the internal indicators and algorithms, though you can define a maximum stop loss value that will override the algorithm based one if the latter is higher. It is recommended to always have a minimum defined;
  • Strat*_SLC_MinPips (Def: 0; Opt: 0/10/50) - minimum stop-loss in pips control. Stop loss is automatically determined by the internal indicators and algorithms. If you define a minimum stop-loss control value and the algorithm-based stop-loss is lower the position will not be opened.
  • Strat*_SLC_MaxPips (Def: 250; Opt: 60/10/250) - maximum stop-loss in pips control. Stop loss is automatically determined by the internal indicators and algorithms. If you define a maximum stop-loss control value and the algorithm-based stop-loss is higher the position will not be opened.

CLOSE Strategy Parameters

EA Pip Scalper has advanced internal algorithms to identify when the market flips against the current open trades and triggers close signals in a timely matter in order to cut losses and/or keep profits higher. Here are all closing strategy parameters (with default values and recommended optimization settings):

  • Close_EOW (Def: true; Opt: false/true) - close trades at the end of the week. Very important to keep enabled in order to prevent unexpected price action and gaps;
  • Close_EOW_Hour (Def: 19) - the hour when EOW close will be triggered;
  • Close_EOW_Minute (Def: 59) - the minute when EOW close will be triggered;
  • Close_Sig1A (Def: false; Opt: false/true) - close signals generated by the internal indicator Sig1; may not be reliable in fast-moving markets;
  • Close_Sig1B (Def: false; Opt: false/true) - close signals generated by the internal indicator Sig1 with advanced controls; may not be reliable in fast-moving markets;
  • Close_Sig2A (Def: false; Opt: false/true) - close signals generated by the internal indicator Sig2; may give delayed close signals in a fast-moving markets;
  • Close_Sig2B (Def: false; Opt: false/true) - close signals generated by the internal indicator Sig2 with advanced controls; may give delayed close signals in a fast-moving market;
  • Close_Sig3A (Def: false; Opt: false/true) - close signals generated by the internal indicator Sig3; good for crypto-assets; may give pre-mature close signals in a fast-moving market and cut the profitable trades earlier;
  • Close_Sig4A (Def: false; Opt: false/true) - close signals generated by the internal indicator Sig4; good for fast-moving markets;
  • Close_Sig4B (Def: false; Opt: false/true) - close signals generated by the internal indicator Sig4 with advanced controls; keeps winning positions for longer for maximum profit;
  • Close_Sig5A (Def: false; Opt: false/true) - close signals generated by the internal indicator Sig5; advanced trend analysis and price action; good for fast-moving markets.

Trailing Stop

Standard trailing stop parameters are available:

  • TStop_Pips (Def: 25; Opt: 0/10/100) - trailing stop value in pips;
  • TStop_Step (Def: 5; Opt: 5/5/20) - step in pips to update the trailing stop;
  • TStop_Above (Def: 25; Opt: 0/10/100) - minimum profit in pips to activate the trailing stop.

Other

Additional settings:

  • Hedging (Def: false) - enable/disable hedging.
  • MaxSlippage (Def: 5) - Maximum slippage in pips allowed when sending orders.
  • PriceTooClose (Def: 5) - Minimum distance in pips set from the current price so the order will be adjusted if necessary. If Stop Loss, Take Profit or Pending Order is too close to the current market price, sending order fails with the error "invalid stops" or "invalid price" on most brokers.
  • Magic_Number_Auto (Def: true) - Automatically generate MagicNumber values per asset if set to true.
  • Magic_Number - MagicNumber value to use if Magic_Number_Auto is set to false.
  • Audible_Alerts - enable/disable audible alerts.

Position Sizing & Money Management

EA Pip Scalper uses advanced money management and lot size calculation logic. It calculates the lot size based on the configured risk percentage, defined at MM_RiskPercentage, and the internally detected stop loss, calculated on the fly by the internal indicators. The lot size amount is calculated in such a way, so that if the trade hits the stop loss, then the actual loss will be the defined MM_RiskPercentage from the account balance.

It is possible to further reduce the calculated lot size per strategy via the Strat*_PS_Prc, which stands for Position Size Percentage. This is a percentage of the position size, that has been already calculate via the above logic, to use for trades opened by the corresponding strategy.

There is also a more advanced possibility to adjust the already detected stop loss by the internal indicators via the Strat*_SL_MinPips and Strat*_SL_MaxPips per each strategy. Strat*_SL_MinPips will be used to override the detected stop loss if the detected stop loss was below the value defined in this input. Strat*_SL_MaxPips will be used to override the detected stop loss, if the detected stop loss was above the value defined in this input.

By using the above inputs you can dial your position sizing according to your trading preferences.

Optimization Guides

Financial markets are very dynamic and momentum changes rapidly. EA Pip Scalper provides you with a default configuration based on the recent market conditions for the major Forex pair EUR/USD, though you have to develop a process of perioding optimizations of the input parameters based on the ever-changing markets and the specific markets and assets that you may be using the expert advisor to trade on.

For every input parameter, we are providing you with a safe default value and also with suggested range and step. For example, the definition for the Sig0_Offset parameter is Sig0_Offset (Def: -5; Opt: -5/1/5) - this means a default value of -5 and a valid range between -5 to 5 with a step of 1. Those optimization parameters are mean to be used in the MetaTrader's Strategy Tester mode with Optimization enabled.

Using the Strategy Tester is beyond the scope of this document. However, we strongly recommend optimizing your parameters on a monthly basis with your market conditions and broker data in order to achieve the best results.

DO NOT optimize with incomplete data or M1 data as this will lead to wrong results!
